Well, this is new.

I am not a writer. Nor am I a professional blogger but I'm going to give this a go none the less. My intention for this blog is to document what I learn over the next period of time. I recently turned 19 (too old for my liking) therefore I'm trying to figure out what my purpose is in this small place called Northern Ireland.

I finished sixth form in June 2013. Throughout upper sixth my plan was to go to university and anything aside from this was not in my mind frame. Alas, I did not get a place and my life was at a crossroads. I didn't know what the next step was. All I knew was that I believed in a God who had a divine plan for my life. Even though at times I didn't want to hear this- I knew it to be true.

The past few months can only be described as a roller coaster of emotions. There have been some highs but only to be accompanied with many lows. However, I have learnt that God can use a situation which at first seems bleak and use it for a greater good. Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I have come to realise that it is okay to have a season of stillness in your life. Enough of the glorification of busy. Sometimes you need time to read, write and explore the world outside your front door. I now realise what it is I am truly passionate about and God helps me grow in this. It is important to remind yourself of who you are and what you are defined by. A university place, relationship or material possession does not define you. Yes- they may be attributes of what makes you, you. However, notice that they are all
temporary. My identity is in Christ and I am his child and of this I am certain. I'm learning what it means to truly trust the FATHER.

Right now I am clueless as to what the future holds; but I'm no longer worried.

"We say things like, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." and "Trust in the Lord with all your heart." Then we live and plan like we don't believe God even exists. We try to set our lives up so everything will be fine even if God doesn't come through. But true faith means holding nothing back. It means putting every hope in God's fidelity to His promises."- Francis Chan.

So here's to an unknown future which is in the hands of an all knowing God.
